Equine Solarium – Activo-Med Solarium III

The Activo-Med Solarium uses infrared bulbs to provide a pleasant warming effect that can improve circulation and help to relax tense muscles. Following exercise the light therapy can be used to help break down lactic acid that causes muscles to tighten and pull.

The lights can also be used to quickly dry wet or damp horses which can help avoid muscle damage, tightening up and chills. How it works

Heat therapy relaxes and soothes the muscles, increases circulation, reduces stiffness and relieves pain. The warmth generated dilates the blood vessels of the chronic areas, increasing blood flow and helping to re-oxygenate and relax the muscles and ligaments.

In the treatment of muscle and ligament injuries, heat is normally applied during the repair stage of the injury and, when applied to tight muscles, heat helps to relax the muscle which prevents injury.

Light therapy using infrared bulbs is commonly used on existing problem areas to help accelerate wound and muscle healing, and to assist with pain management.

The Activo-Med Solarium is motorised to easily adjust the height for different sized horses and for easy bulb replacement.

Activo-Med Solariums be added to the Activo-Med Combi Floor, with optional scales, to combine many great therapies into one. Solariums are available with many different bulb options including Red Light, Infrared and other colours which can all be controlled separately.
